1. Purpose

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Kontrol, an app operated by Kortress ("we"). By using the app you agree to these Terms.

2. Definitions

"Service" means the Kontrol mobile app, which offers mini-games, tools, aversive images, quotes and a fake-hunger test for the moment a craving hits, and its related web pages.
"User" means anyone who uses the Service. No sign-up is required.
"Premium" means the paid subscription that removes ads and adds extra features.

3. Features

The Service includes the SOS button, mini-games, tools, aversive images, quotes, the fake-hunger test, a home-screen SOS widget and on-device stats. Free use shows ads. Content may vary by region, and we may update or remove content to comply with local policies or platform guidelines.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play and billed to your store account.
A subscription that starts with a free trial is charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends, and renews until you cancel.
Cancel in your store subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
After changing devices or reinstalling, use "Restore purchases" in the app with the same store account.
Refunds follow each store's refund policy.

5. Premium benefits

Premium removes banner and full-screen ads and adds Home shortcut editing, widget shortcuts and a weekly Resist Jar report. Benefits may change with app updates.

6. Your records

Resist counts, stats, Resist Jar records and settings are stored only on your device and are not synced between devices. Deleting the app deletes them. Data we process on our servers is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

Do not copy, resell or redistribute our content.
Do not attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the app or our servers.
Use aversive content responsibly; you can turn it off in Settings, and you should stop if you feel unwell.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition. We do not guarantee health outcomes, and the app is not a replacement for professional care.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kortress shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be brought before the courts located in Seoul, Korea.
