What is fake hunger?
It's the urge to eat that comes from stress, boredom or habit rather than an empty stomach. Kontrol's Fake Hunger Test asks a few quick questions to help you see which one you're feeling right now.
What kind of diet app is it?
It doesn't count calories or log meals. It's for the moment a craving hits β it gives your hands and head something else to do until the urge passes, and it works alongside any tracker you already use.
How is it different from just holding out?
Instead of white-knuckling it, you shift your attention elsewhere for a while. Many cravings fade within about 20 minutes, so the goal is to get through that stretch.
What are the gross images for?
They show the opposite of the food you're craving, to put a brief brake on the urge. How well it works varies from person to person, and you can turn them off for SOS in Settings.
What does Premium add?
Banner and full-screen ads go away, and you get Home shortcut editing, widget shortcuts and a weekly Resist Jar report. SOS, games and tools are all available without a subscription.
How long does one session take?
A mini-game takes one to two minutes. Many cravings fade within about 20 minutes, so if one is still there, keep going with another game or tool.
Can I use it for free?
The SOS button, mini-games and tools are free to use, with ads. Pro removes ads and adds extras such as editing your home-screen shortcuts. The annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial.
Do I need an account?
No. It works as soon as you install it. Your resist records and stats stay on your device, and payments are handled by the App Store and Google Play. See the privacy policy for details.
Which languages are supported?
Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish.
How do I cancel or restore a subscription?
Cancel from the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. If you changed devices, tap 'Restore' on the app's paywall. Step-by-step instructions are on the contact page.
